In 1968, a group of visionary and rebel people dared to think out of the box, to think differently from the usual way in the wineries of that age and having as a priority the recovery of the Galician historical grape varieties: Loureira, Godello, Albariño o Treixadura, among others.
Thus, Viña Costeira was born, nowadays a reference winery in the Galician scene, with a continuous growth that made it into a solid brand that leans on its tradition and innovation.

The passion is the common factor in everything we do. From the very first person working on every detail of the process, we are absolutely involved in a project we enjoy with full honesty.
This leads us to improve every day, to learn, to look after our vineyards with the greatest care and to discover in every vintage that our passion is more than rewarded.
50 years have passed since we bottled the first Ribeiro wine in the world in 1968, the Pazo Ribeiro. Nowadays, our production generates 45% of the Ribeiro Designation of Origin total, with 5 million bottles sold each year.
Far from settling for anything, our trajectory encourages us to keep on investigating, generating new wines and dive in experiences unknown to this date.
As a result of this continuous innovation, wines and liquors of the finest quality have been born, together with a well-deserved recognition: Colección 68, Tostado Costeira, Lua Jazz Brut or Viña Costeira Mencía are proof of our current and future projection of the winery.
Another one of the projects in which we have high hopes is Pazo de Toubes, land of centenarian vineyards located privileged and special in a place.
Here, signature wines sprout, fruit of a completely traditional elaboration.
Having reached our 50 anniversary and having received the award to Best Winery in Spain, we can only highlight our self-satisfaction for our winery, its people and its products.
They are the result of a great sacrifice to make Viña Costeira a clear exemplary winery in Spain, with the purpose of keeping on overcoming boundaries and to expand the brand and its inherent values beyond the Ribeiro and beyond our country.
