Vía XVIII, the new Pazo de Toubes red wine, is a very intense, maroon colored wine. Being a high intensity wine, it presents ripe fruits and good soil harmony in the nose, with mineral hints. This red wine is easy to drink and enjoy, with no tartness and light density, with an intense and long aftertaste that brings forward traditional elaboration sensations. Due to its moderate acidity, this red wine has a rich pleasant character, unctuous on the palate.

  • Soil: stony soils, with the presence of pebbles, schists and slate. Most of the cases, there is the presence of a natural plant cover.
  • Grape Garnacha Tintureira old vine, 100% (also called Alicante Bouschet or Henry Bouschet).
  • Suggested serving temperature: 16-19ºC

Description

Winemaking

Vía XVIII red wine is harvested manually in boxes. It is destemmed and softly crushed with a 26 degrees fermentation in stainless steel vats. Its maceration is traditional and careful, and it is pumped over manually. Its nature is defined due to the winter colds while it rests in steel vats.

Pairing

This wine is suitable to pair with pâtés and baked poultry. It is also great to pair with legume stews and meats with mushroom garnish. It is perfect for digesting turkey and lamb on Christmas festivities.
